Day 12: Old and Young

Day 12: Old and Young

12

#Then: Back in 1974 in Messumba there were various members of staff from the UK and the newest one was Eileen Bird who then met Ken Hamilton and they married. Pictured here with Canon Jeremias Mahlalela, it reminds us of the importance of having both old and young in our churches, teams and Dioceses; as we reflect the breadth and depth of the body of Christ.

#Now: Today, Eileen with her husband Ken is still a trustee of MANNA and we continue to reflect and try and embody that same body of Christ, including both old and young, needing both wisdom and new ideas.

Lord Jesus, we pray for the dioceses of Mozambique and Angola that they are wise enough to include old and young on their teams and be willing to hear all differing points of view within the Spirit of Peace as they lead the Anglican churches. Amen.

With thanks to the Bodleian Libraries, The University of Oxford and USPG Archives.
