Day 17: Recent History

Day 17: Recent History

17

#Then: This photo is from February 1999 – a little more recent than the previous ones but a moment in history of the Diocese of Angola which is younger than the Dioceses in Mozambique. Here was the first Anglican church in Benguela which was an improvised shelter they had made. This church first began in the garden of someone’s house.

#Now: Today there is a new church in Benguela and the clinic that the Anglican diocese runs, is close by in Lobito.

Lord Jesus, we pray for the Diocese of Angola and thank you for its growth. We ask your blessing on Bishop Andre that you may give him the strength, wisdom and clarity to lead the Anglican church in the vast country of Angola. Amen.
